Choosing a Light Body Teacher

There are numerous spiritual paths and teachers, many of them different but all equally valid, and the Awakening Your Light Body teachings are another path which can be explored.

It is as if the Universe, which has created a world of wonderful diversity in nature, also enjoys the colourful diversity of human spirituality, and this is not something which should ever cause us concern.

But we have to be realistic, the human life-span makes it impossible for us to try all the paths on offer – we just don’t live long enough – and to merely flirt with them all means we become a jack of all paths and master of none.

So at some point a serious student needs to choose a single path if they really want to change.

For any personal and spiritual development system to work, the student needs to make a serious commitment to follow their path, and for a reasonable and sustained period of time, so that the energies start to work and create the changes which the student desires.

The question for the student is therefore ‘If I am required to make this investment of time and effort in order to achieve my dreams, how to do I know that I am choosing the right path for me?’

This has been one of the perennial questions, asked by all students down the ages, and there isn’t a tick-box type answer which can quickly resolve it.

The best advice given in recent years is to ask the question ‘Is my spiritual path a path of the heart?

When you are choosing a path you need to ask yourself ‘When thinking about this possible path how does it make me feel?’

If you are feeling more alive, excited, energised when thinking about a possible path, even if you may be feeling scared at the same time, then it is probably a sign that your intuition is pointing you in the right direction.

I would advise people to read Jack Kornfield’s book A Path With Heart for more discussion on this tricky question – see the Suggested Reading section.

When you have resolved the first question, and found that you are being magically drawn towards awakening your light body, the second question which may surface is ‘OK, I know I want to awaken my light body, but how do I know that Samarpan Alchemy is the right school to study with?’

Once again, there is no simple equation which can be followed to give you an answer. The best you can do is to explore your feelings and intuition concerning the different Light Body teachers who are available.

To help you decide whether Samarpan Alchemy is the right school for you the following two guided journeys have been specially created, and can be found in the Free Guided Journeys section:

These are journeys which are being placed out in the public domain for people to enjoy and use at any time they need. Within each of these journeys there are special energy transmissions which people will receive each time they listen to these journeys.

However, while listening to them you can also ask yourself the question ‘Do I feel a resonance with this person?’ If the answer feels like ‘Yes’ then it could be that we a destined to work together at some point in the future.

But if the answer is ‘No, Samarpan Alchemy doesn’t feel right, but I still feel like I want to awaken my light body’ then that is OK as well. There are many wonderful light body teachers available for you to study with, in the U.K. and abroad, and I am grateful that I have been of service and able to help you clarify your hearts desire.

If you were to liken spiritual development to a cosmic game of pinball, sometimes you need to ‘rebound’ off an earlier teacher so that you can pick up the speed and direction to connect with your true teacher.

The vision which I am holding for Samarpan Alchemy is that not only do I attract those students who can resonate with my own energies, but I also help those students who are not meant to work with me find their true teachers.

Now when you start to walk down the personal growth path, and work with a teacher or school, you also need to keep asking yourself the same basic questions ‘Is this a path which makes life feel more interesting? Is this a path which is challenging me to grow, even when I don’t feel like I want to, and try to sabotage myself and resist? Is this a path which is making me feel more and more alive?’

If the answer to any and all of the above is ‘Yes’ then these are confirmation signs that you are still on the right path for you.

If the answers starts to turn into a ‘No’ then you may need to re-evaluate your commitment to that path, although I would suggest that you also need to re-evaluate your re-evaluation before making any snap decisions, because our ego has a way of getting in the way of our connection to intuition.

Often I find students, who once came to me at the start of our work together and said ‘My intuition has told me to take this awakening your light body course’, later half-way through the course change their minds and start to say instead ‘My intuition has told me this course isn’t right and I so I am going to leave’.

The bottom-line is that intuition doesn’t change it’s mind about the big picture of your life, so you if your feelings around an issue start to radically change then it is usually a sign that either a) you didn’t make a true connection to your intuition in the first place, or b) your ego doesn’t like the changes which are starting to take place and is making a fuss to try and get you to change direction.

So what I try to say to those students is that if your intuition was wrong when it told you to come on the course, then you need to work our why it was wrong before you make a commitment to another spiritual path, or else you'll be trapped in a similar pattern somewhere else, which will be a waste of your time and energy; or if your initial feelings where indeed right, you need to seriously examine why you want or need to give up the course before you do, or else you'll have to start from the beginning somewhere else.

One of the important spiritual lessons is how to differentiate between the voice of our ego and the voice of our intuition, and I would advise people to read Sanaya Roman’s book Personal Power Through Awareness for simple, straightforward advice on how to achieve this – see the Suggested Reading section.

On the path of personal growth the signs which tell us that we are on the right path are often very subtle, and so we need to develop the awareness and sensitivity to notice them when they occur, and we also need to take into account our ability to sabotage ourselves, although this does diminish the more skilled we become.

But when you make a commitment to a path you also need to take responsibility for any choice you make or take, either towards something or away from it.

If a student finds that they have made a commitment to a path which turns out to be the wrong one for them, it is the student’s responsibility to accept that, in the final analysis, it was their decision to follow that path, and so they need to evaluate the reasons behind their mistaken choice. This is the reason why many spiritual masters have remarked that even working with a false master is an opportunity for the student to grow and learn about themselves.
